Dear NGO representatives, Please join us at the second edition of the #UN75 Dialogues in international Geneva, a conversation on Multilateralism in the time of COVID-19. Around the world, the United Nations’ 75th birthday has provided the backdrop for a global discussion about the future of the organization and the role multilateralism can play in resolving today’s challenges and leveraging opportunities that come with global collaboration. The onset of the Covid-19 pandemic has brought a new urgency to this discussion, highlighting even more thebenefits of cooperation across borders, sectors and generations. As part of the #UN75 global initiative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the UN Office at Geneva is very pleased to invite you to join the second edition of the #UN75 Dialogues in international Geneva, a conversation on Multilateralism in the time of COVID-19, this timewith a special focus on culture, sports and tourism. The event will take place on Thursday, 25 June 2020 from 12 noon to 1.30 p.m. CET.
The dialogue isorganized in cooperation with the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, the University of Geneva and foraus. Students and young researchers from these three academic institutions will be sharing their thoughts and questions with heads of key international agencies, including: Audrey Azoulay, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization Thomas Bach, International Olympic Committee Fabrizio Hochschild-Drummond, Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on the Commemoration of the United Nations 75th Anniversary Mukhisa Kituyi, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development Mami Mizutori,United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction Zurab Pololikashvili, World Tourism Organization Tatiana Valovaya, United Nations Office at Geneva Guests will be welcomed with a special message by the well-known Brazilian footballer Marta.
