Lesung: „Heimweh nach der Welt – 20 Jahre Auslandsdienst“, René J. Laglstorfer

Zur Lesung:

Zum 20. Geburtstag des Zivildienstes im Ausland ist der Journalist und frühere Auslandsdiener René J. Laglstorfer sieben Monate um den Erdball gereist und hat seine Nachfolger an ihren Gedenk-, Sozial- und Friedensdienst-Einsatzstellen in aller Welt besucht.

Das daraus entstandene Weltreise-Buch „Heimweh nach der Welt – 20 Jahre Auslandsdienst“ entführt u.a. ins brasilianische Tirolerdorf Dreizehnlinden, zum “guten Nazi” John Rabe nach China, in lateinamerikanische Straßenkinder-Projekte und an jenen Ort, wo der österreichische Schriftsteller Stefan Zweig die letzten Monate vor dem ersehnten Freitod verbracht hat.

Das audiovisuelle Lesungs-Konzept ist eine Mischung aus Dia-Fotovortrag, Einspielungen aus Laglstorfers ORF-Radiosendung mit Originalinterviews von den Auslandsdienst-Einsatzstellen in aller Welt sowie einer klassischen Buchlesung - also im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes "audio-visuell" und vielfach erprobt sehr kurzweilig und erlebnisreich.

The IDEA Society, the Peace Museum Vienna, the Organization for World Peace and the Austrian Service Aborad present at the opening of the Peace Museum Vienna, the reading "Homesick for the World - 20 years of Austrian service abroad" on Monday, June 16 at 19:00 pm in the Hayek Institute, Grünangergasse 1/15, 1010 Vienna.

About the Book.Presentation:

On occasion of the 20th birthday of the Austrian service abroad, the journalist and former servant abroad René J. Laglstorfer traveled seven months over the world and visited his successors at their memorial, social and peace-service operation sites around the world.

The resulting therefrom is the world travel book "Homesick for the World - 20 years of Austrian service abroad" takes you, among other things to the Brazilian Tyrolean village Dreizehnlinden, to the "good Nazi" John Rabe to China, to Latin American street children projects and to the place where the Austrian writer Stefan Zweig has spent the last months before the highly anticipated suicide.

The audiovisual book presentation concept is a mixture of photo presentation, recordings from Laglstorfers ORF radio broadcast show with original interviews of the service abroad operation sites around the world and a classic book reading.
